Wheel of the Year Workshop

One of the biggest reasons we have lost our way as a species is we have pinched off our connection to the organic blueprint of life that is inherently embedded in our DNA.

Once upon a time, we lived consciously entwined with nature. We rose and rested with the Sun, we knew what foods to eat when, we understood when the wind blew a certain way or the tides changed or when the birds began their yearly migration that it was time for certain ways of being. We also knew the importance of rites of passage. Of honouring the seasons within and without us as a way of anchoring in to all that is. We knew what it was to belong.

Without these, we are swimming in a soup of uncertainty, fear, abandonment, anxiety and deep, aching loneliness and separation. We’ve lost our trust. Trust in the intelligence and benevolence of life.

Ritual and observance of the natural flow of life is as important to our physical, mental, emotional and especially spiritual health as our primary needs. It brings us together as a community, not only the community of other humans, it reminds us that our community lies between the smallest soil microbe through to the far reaches of our known and unknown, seen and unseen universe.
